Creativity begins with becoming fully present and offers the artist and the beholder the gift of insight and a gateway bridging the rational and the numinous. 

Inspiration

Working directly and spontaneously from life is a constant source of spiritual and creative nourishment and inspiration.  Working with the live figure and with nature is also an act of love, empathy, and contemplation which is highly meditative and reflective:  an act of being fully present with one’s whole Self, the world, and the wondrous web of life.

Harmony

My works are all created with deep attention and care for the model or subject, for the moment, and towards a gestalt of inner rhythms and harmonies.  Such attentive looking can inspire us each to stop and re-engage with our world and our relationships with a renewed sense of connection, wonder, compassion, and envisionment. 

Discovery

Drawings are journeys of discovery, reflection, and revelation.  Ultimately, they are paths to deeper awareness and appreciation, deeper looking, attending, and understanding; part of a larger journey of mindful living and a quest for spiritual meaning.  Each is “complete” and each is fully present.
